My name is Sherri Cook, and I am truly blessed to be a Conqueror here at A.V.C.S. I started here as a long-term sub in JK, taught 2nd grade for 3 years, and I am currently serving as our school’s TOSA (Elementary Teacher on Special Assignment). I am honored to support teachers and students in the classroom by teaching, assessing, working in small groups, along with one-on-one support for students who need extra academic instruction.
I earned my undergraduate and multiple subject teaching credential at Chapman University, and furthered my education at University of La Verne where I earned my M.S. in Leadership and Management. Life is a journey and one never stops growing and learning whether it’s from a text book, life experiences, out of the mouth of babes, God’s word, or trial and error. I’m passionate about our youth by pouring into their social, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual well-being. It fills my heart to build the kingdom of God and show Christ to our students on a daily basis here at A.V.C.S.
I’m a native Californian, and I live here in Laguna Niguel with my husband Matt, and our daughters Taylor, Paige, Grace, and our beloved Golden Retriever Raychel. I love my blended family, and we enjoy the beach, riding bikes, camping, paddle boarding, boating out in Lake Havasu, and any outdoor activity and adventure that can be had! When we put our trust in God, nothing is impossible. “For nothing is impossible with God.” Luke 1:37
My favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 17:7-8 and says, “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out it roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
