Welcome to First Grade! My name is Mrs. Sheena Sheldon and I am very lucky to be able to work with you this school year! I love that this age group offers such an interest in wanting to acquire all of the knowledge they can get. I have such a passion for being a part of young children’s educational development and giving my undivided attention to their social emotional and spiritual growth needs.
My husband Kevin (who is the campus pastor here) got married in 2019. We then took God’s call for us and moved here in 2020 from Minnesota, where I have lived all my life. I attended Bethel University where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with minors in Early Childhood and Preprimary Education. Then I went on to receive my Master’s of Science in Educational Literacy K-12 from Minnesota State University-Mankato. I have the experience of teaching in the same school district for 3 years where I taught fourth grade and preschool in Southern Minnesota. I’ve always had, and still have, such a big heart for those young learners and couldn’t imagine spending my days doing anything other than encouraging and supporting my students.
In my free time, my husband and I love to do my at home workouts and spend as much time exploring the outdoors and going on walks. I also enjoy all things cooking and baking in the kitchen. I find it very relaxing! We are looking forward to exploring more of the beautiful Southern California and enjoying the mild winter here as well! 🙂
