I feel very blessed to be joining the AVCS family as a math teacher in Middle School. It excites me to see what God has for me this school year. I graduated from Cal State San Marcos with my Bachelor of Arts as well as completing my credential program there. I spent my first 2 years as a substitute teacher in various San Diego School District’s before accepting my first position at Capo Beach Calvary School. After a few years I accepted apposition and taught in the Lake Elsinore School District. After a year, I made the decision to stay home to raise our children and along the way joined my husband in running our nonprofit Testimonylife in Lake Forest. It is an organization helping those with life struggles and mental health issues. During this time, I started to tutor students who struggled in math. I found joy being able to work one on one with each student and watch them grow and flourish in a subject I was passionate about. It was about a year ago, that God placed on my heart to start to pray and seek employment to be in the classroom again. It has always been my desire to teach since I was a little girl and I know it is my gifting that God has given me. It an answer to prayer to be here at AVCS and do what I love.
I am married to an amazing man and together we have 3 children. My husband is a licensed MFT where he counsels at Testimonylife. He also teaches bible at SVCS and occasionally public speaking engagements. My step daughter is currently attending Azusa Pacific and will be starting her junior year this fall. Our daughter is a 7th grader and loves volleyball and dance. Our son is a 4th grader and plays pop warner football and AVLL baseball. We are an adventurous family, so when we have time, we explore and do new things. From hiking in the Sierras, kayaking in the ocean to visiting a museum or eating at a new restaurant in a new city, we take what God has given us and marvel at His wondrous world He created.
One verse that God has spoken over me for many years is “I will give you immeasurably more than you can ask for or imagine” Ephesians 3:20. It has been a verse I hold dearly to and is a favorite of mine. Throughout many seasons of my life, I grab hold of this promise. He loves us and has more for us than we can ever comprehend. I’m looking forward to meeting all of you and working with my students here at AVCS.
