Lea Van Echten
Dear AVCS Parents and Students,
Welcome back to school! I am really looking forward to another school year with my new class of fifth graders.
My name is Lea Van Echten. I am one of the 5th grade teachers at this wonderful school.
I have been teaching since 1997. I have taught in a private all girls school in Long Beach for five years. I have also taught in the Santa Ana Unified School District for five years. I have been teaching at AVCS since 2007.
I love to travel and experience new adventures with my husband Harry and my two amazing sons, Harrison and Hayden. I enjoy going to the beach, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family.
God continues to make fifth grade so special. Last year, He filled it with wonderful memories, many educational experiences and unforgettable teachable moments and conversations. I look forward to another great year filled with His blessings.
My goals for my fifth graders are to help them to continue to practice taking responsibility for themselves, their actions, and their materials. We will focus on building a mature relationship with Jesus Christ as we journey towards middle school. It’s going to be a great year!
Thank you for your kindness and support this year. I look forward to working with you as partner together on behalf of your child.
