I’m very excited to be teaching first grade at AVCS!
My teaching career started in public school in 2000 with tiny four and five year olds. Kindergarten was a great first step into education. At the time, I was also working on my Master’s Degree from Azusa Pacific University. The amount of growth in my students from day one to day one hundred and eighty was phenomenal. For the next few years, I ‘graduated’ from teaching kinder to second and third graders. After taking a few years off to have children, I found myself back in the classroom again.
I’ve always valued Christian education. I attended Western Christian High School and Azusa Pacific University. Teachers started class with prayer. Chapel was held weekly and choir wasn’t just singing, but God-honoring worship! What a blessing! I’m thrilled to pair my passion for Jesus with my passion to teach. I pray your children will know how deep and wide the love of their Savior is for them.
First graders are full of life and excited to learn. I love to make learning fun with music, hands-on activities, and creative storytelling. I want every student in my class to feel loved, respected, and encouraged to be the best that they can be. I find it a privilege and honor to help unlock your child’s unique God-given gifts.
I have a beautiful blended family with my wonderful husband, Drew, and our daughters, Audrey, Abby, and Katie. I’m SO thankful to be teaching in the community that I live with my children so close by.
I love being silly with my girls and going on dates with my husband. I also love to go to the beach, travel, walk/run, read, sing, watch movies, try new recipes, and spend time with my family and friends.
I look forward to a wonderful year of learning and growing at AVCS!
For His glory,
