Hello! My name is Katherine Chavez. I graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies and earned my teaching credential in 2006. I began teaching her at AVCS in 2007 and have taught Middle School and Elementary. It is a blessing and a privilege to be part of such a loving, Christian, community of pastors, administrators, staff members, and you, the families who support our school.
I have two wonderful, adult age children, Jessica and Will. Jessica lives in New York City and Will lives here in Southern California. Last summer the three of us toured Europe together and had an incredible time. When I’m not at AVCS, I am most likely enjoying the outdoors, by running or hiking trails, or kayaking or paddling on the water. In addition, I love to read and I enjoy writing fiction. I look forward to the school year with great enthusiasm and anticipation for the opportunities to inspire, guide, and nurture both academic growth and spiritual development in Christ.
My favorite Bible verse is “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6
