Welcome to Fifth Grade with Mrs. Donna Partridge! I feel very lucky to be able to work with one of my absolute favorite age groups. Fifth graders are energetic, inquisitive, and social by nature. I take great joy in encouraging these traits, but supporting them to mature in areas of responsibility, independence, and spirituality. I am truly honored to be a part of this huge developmental year that prepares them for middle school!
Growing up in Pennsylvania, I attended La Salle University for my Bachelor of Arts with a Dual Major in Elementary and Special Education. Then, Holy Family University for a Master Degree of Education with PA Reading Specialist Certification. My experience includes working as a special educator in a resource room setting for a total of 5 years in Maryland and Pennsylvania. My true passion for teaching fifth grade developed by teaching fifth grade for 8 years in Central Bucks School District in Doylestown, PA.
My teaching philosophy is that everyone can learn to succeed with strategies and support, from school and home, with a positive approach. I believe that the key is helping students discover what works for them, in regards to their learning, and what truly inspires them.
My inspiration comes daily from my family, friends, and students. I am thankful for having a supportive and amazing family consisting of my husband, Steve, and 3 kids (Sullivan, Delaney, and Riley). Our newest addition, a Great Dane puppy, Nala, teaches us every day to have patience and laugh! Outside of school, you will find me cheering on a soccer field, finding sea glass on the beach, teaching a youth group at our church, and attempting yoga at a studio. Mostly, I love being surrounded by family and friends just reading, playing, or on an adventure.
One of my favorite verses is Colossians 3:11
Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
