Getting to know Mrs. Theveny

Hello. My name is Tonya Theveny. I am very excited to be teaching first grade this year at AVCS.

I received my Bachelor’s degree and teaching credential from Cal State University, Fullerton. I taught kindergarten and first grade for Capistrano Unified School District and, for the past six years, I have been teaching at Lutheran Church of the Cross Preschool. It is truly a delight and privilege to be able to incorporate God’s word into our daily life at school. I feel so blessed to be sharing Jesus’ love with your children.

I have two daughters at AVCS. Jenna is in fifth grade and Caitlin is in third. Along with my husband, Paul, we attend church here at Aliso Viejo Church of the Cross.

One of my favorite Bible verses is Hebrews 11:1 ~ “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”

I am looking forward to an exciting year. I pray that your children have a wonderful time in first grade and that they grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18.)
