PASTOR LELAND LANTZ

BIO

Pastor Leland Lantz

It is an exciting privilege to serve here at Lutheran Church of the Cross as senior pastor! For the past nineteen years, I continue to love being called to serve as shepherd to this congregation. Because I grew up on a farm in southwest Iowa, farm stories seem to come out in preaching and teaching. God works in mysterious ways to call a farm-boy from Iowa to serve in suburban Orange County!

I have grown to love preaching, leading worship, Bible studies, and coordinating Senior Day Out. I bring oversight to our wonderful staff and all the ministry programs at both our campuses including our Christian preschool at the Laguna Woods campus and our K-8 Aliso Viejo Christian School at the Aliso Viejo campus. I love people and have a heart for missions and serving others. My wife Marcia and our adult children Emilie and Jonathan along with others from our congregation have been on various mission trips to Mexico, Bolivia and twice to Czech Republic. We recently took a trip to the holy Land. Being a former music teacher, I also love singing and participating in the music ministries of our church.

My favorite Bible passage is 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! My sincere hope if for you to know Jesus as your Savior and know the true life and purpose he has for your life. I invite you to come and join us for worship, Bible Study, fellowship, and prayer as we journey together as “new creations” in Jesus Christ!”

Sincerely,
Pastor Leland Lantz
