Getting to know Mrs. Mellott
Hello and Welcome to AVCS! I am Mrs. Laura Mellott and I have the pleasure and honor of teaching Physical Education to all the students at AVCS. This is my fourth year teaching at AVCS and my 6th year as a parent to this wonderful school. I also have 3 previous years teaching experience in California and New Mexico. I have a wonderful husband, John, and 10-year old twins, Zachary and John, who are fifth graders this year.
I was born and raised in southeastern New Mexico, attended Odessa College in Odessa, TX, and had the wonderful experience of playing Division I basketball while in college and graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education/Health. I also received my teaching credential from Cal State Fullerton.
During my 10-year career at Disneyland, I met my husband while working at Carnation Main Street Restaurant. I am a lover of most sports, especially college football and golf. My hobbies are reading, playing golf and spending time with my family.
