Getting to know Miss Hutchins

Welcome to AVCS! My name is Katie Hutchins and I am excited to be starting my tenth year of teaching at Aliso Viejo Christian School. It has been amazing to watch the Lord bless AVCS.  I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th Social Studies. I feel honored and blessed to be where I pray the Lord will use me in the lives of each student. My prayer is my students not only grow academically, but experience rich spiritual growth as they walk with Jesus.  I am very eager to start the new school year and know we have an exciting journey ahead of us.

I have a wonderful, loving, and supportive family. My family and I have lived in Lake Forest for the past eighteen years. I have one younger brother, Jeff who is currently serving the United States Air Force as a Second Lieutenant at the Los Angeles Air Force base.  I was born in Plano, Texas and have also lived in Illinois and Iowa before moving to Southern California when I was 13. I attended Serrano Intermediate and graduated from Trabuco Hills High School in June of 1997. From there I spent 4 great years at the University of California, Berkeley. Graduating in 2001 with a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology, I headed down south to Vanguard University where I earned my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Praise the Lord for His provisions because I had the amazing opportunity to earn my Masters in Education in May 2005. I recently acquired my Single Subject Social Science Credential and love expanding knowledge of all things historical!
