Getting to know Miss Hutchins

Hi and welcome to AVCS! My name is Katie Hutchins and I am excited to be starting my eighth year of teaching at Aliso Viejo Christian School. I teach 6th-8th Social Studies. I feel honored and blessed to be here where I pray the Lord will use me in the lives of each student. My prayer is my students not only grow academically, but ultimately experience rich spiritual growth as they walk with Jesus.

I have a wonderful, loving, and supportive family. My parents and I have lived in beautiful Lake Forest for the past seventeen years. I have one younger brother, Jeff who is 21 and a Cadet First Class at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I was born in Plano, Texas and have also lived in Illinois and Iowa before moving to Southern California when I was 13. I attended Serrano Intermediate and graduated from Trabuco Hills High School in June of 1997. From there I spent 4 great years at the University of California, Berkeley. Graduating in 2001 with a bachelors of arts in Sociology, I headed down south to Vanguard University where I earned my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Praise the Lord for His provisions because I had the amazing opportunity to earn my Masters in Education in May 2005. I am currently in the process of applying for my Single Subject Social Science Credential and love expanding knowledge of all things historical!
