Welcome to Aliso Viejo Christian School – the home of the Conquerors! I am Kathy Hutchins and have had the privilege and honor of being a part of this school ministry from the beginning! My first and second teaching assignments here at AVCS were in kindergarten and fourth grade. During the third year of the school, I served as the Assistant Principal. Since 2003, I have had the honor and privilege of being the principal.

Born and raised in Ohio, I have been in the field of education for for over 36 years! In 1970, I received my BS from Purdue University in education which was followed by my M.ED in 1972 from Miami University (Ohio). After my 6th year of teaching in Kettering, Ohio, I had the joy of being on the transfer circuit with my husband and teaching in Texas (twice), Iowa, Illinois (twice), and California. Recently I received a Masters in Educational Administration in December, 2008 from Concordia University. The Lord has been so awesome in providing me with great students and parents in all my teaching assignments.

My husband and I have two children. Katie, my little Texan, is a middle school teacher here at AVCS. Our Iowa son, Jeffrey, is a 2nd Lt. with the United States Air force and is stationed at the Los Angeles Air Force Base.
