Getting to know Pastor Foss
John Foss has been pastor at Aliso Viejo Church of the Cross and Christian school since 2004. He and his wife Sarah are graduates of Lutheran Bible Institute of Seattle (now Trinity Lutheran College) and John is a graduate of Luther Seminary, St. Paul, MN (1995). John served congregations in Hawthorne, CA and Bremerton, WA, prior to coming to Aliso Viejo. John and Sarah have four children (Megan, Joshua, Andrew and Caleb), three currently attend AVCS. John and his family enjoy traveling, playing at the beach and eating ice cream!
John’s main role as pastor is to provide spiritual care and direction for the congregation, staff, students and parents of the church and school. A current special emphasis is on parenting classes and growing small group Bible studies. John feels especially called to minister to families with children so that the next generation will be raised in the knowledge of God’s Word with a vibrant and transparent faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
