    International Department
    
    Home stays are available and encouraged for students at all ages applying to AVCS. We have found that home stay programs with an American family allow students to progress more rapidly with their English language acquisition. A student who lives with an American family will become part of the family and will be involved with their day-to-day activities. Home stay duration is different for every student, but typically ranges from 6 months to the completion of the Program. Students from all over the world are eligible to benefit from our Home-stay Program.
    
    While some of our International students may choose to stay with relatives during their time in the United States, AVCS recommends that students live with an American family. We are affiliated with Cardinal-USA to provide the best environment for the students. We will place students with quality families who have similar interests.

    Home-stay family provides the following:

    • A private room with a bed or a room shared with no more than one other student of the same gender

    • Closet and/or dresser for clothes

    • Desk or workspace

    • Linens, towels, and sheets

    • Generic toiletries - those used by the family

    • Daily breakfast (self served basis)

    • Daily Lunch (We recommend international students to purchase hot-lunch provided at school with extra fee-ranges around $4-6 a day)

    • Daily dinner

    • All weekend meals

    • Transportation

    • Moral and emotional support
