Getting to know Mrs. Adair
I am so blessed to be teaching first grade at AVCS!
I graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and earned my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at Concordia University in Irvine. I began teaching sixth grade, then third grade, and finally, first grade where I absolutely fell in love! This is my fourth year teaching first grade, but my first year here at AVCS. I taught first grade for three years in Capistrano Unified School District and was then “pink slipped” with over 200 other teachers. I have spent the last two years subbing in Capistrano and Irvine school districts, tutoring out of my home and PRAYING to get back into the classroom. Being at AVCS has been such a blessing and huge answer to prayer! I couldn’t be happier here and was even more excited that I got to teach first grade again. First graders are so excited about the world around them. I absolutely LOVE teaching them to read, helping them become life-long learners, AND sharing my love for Jesus with them!
I have been happily married to my husband, Brett, for almost twenty years. We have three amazing daughters. Kayla is a freshman at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Madyson is a junior in high school and my “baby,” Kelsey, is in eighth grade. I love being a mother and am my girls’ biggest fan! When I’m not busy watching a soccer game, or being a taxi driver, I love reading, cooking, gardening, walking my dog, Bailey, and spending time with my family.
Choosing a favorite Bible verse is difficult for me. However, one of my favorites is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me.” No matter what life throws my way, the trials and struggles, I know that my Lord will be “my rock” and my source of strength. He has made things possible in my life that I never could have imagined without Him.
