“Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” - 2 Peter 3:18
Are you feeding yourself the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ? Peter urges his readers to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. No matter where we are in our faith journey, the sinful world will constantly challenge our faith like weeds choking out fruitful plants in a garden. No matter how young or old we are, we have much room for growth. Every day we need to draw closer to Christ so we will be prepared to stand for truth in every situation. How do we do this? I encourage you to worship on a regular basis and attend Bible study as often as possible. The Word of God is foundational for our faith. I hope you will get in the good habit of bringing your Bibles with you to worship.
I encourage you to look at your life and evaluate progress in spiritual growth by the fruit of the Spirit… Galatians 5:22-24 The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and selfcontrol. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with
its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
Sunday, June 27th, we will begin a summer preaching series on the fruit of the Spirit and developing the character of Christ. This series will be followed by an eight week Bible study series on the Fruit of the Spirit. Let’s all grow together in the grace of knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and let the fruit show!
