Music for the Fall
Are you looking for a new and exciting way to enjoy music? Then why not come and try hand bells. Every Wednesday we meet in the library at Laguna Woods from 4:45-5:45pm to play chimes and bells. No musical experience is needed, only the willingness to try and the ability to count to four! We play about once a month which will take us to both campuses several times during the year. Playing bells is a worshipful experience and the congregation looks forward to each song.
A bell and chime workshop will be hosted for anyone interested in “checking it out” first. The workshop is August 7th for children in 4th - 8th grade and August 21st for high school, college, adults and seniors. We will meet in the library at Laguna Woods from 9-11am to learn how to play chimes and bells, look at music and answer any questions you may have about the group.
Please RSVP to Marcia Lantz (949-525-0738) if you would like to attend one of these workshops.
Chancel Choir
Are you ready to sing praises to the Lord? Chancel Choir resumes Wednesday, September 8th at 7pm at the Laguna Woods campus. There will be a “back to choir” get together on Wednesday, August 25th at 7pm in the music room.
If you are interested in joining us, please come! Contact Pauline Lamoureux 714-915-7251 with questions or for more information.

I have been finding that life is a journey of the heart. Which means a lot for us. More than I am able to verbalize. Yet what I can share, is that any worthwhile journey, any wellspent life, must be full of aching and longing, of burning sensations and mountaintop experiences, of death valley devastations and quenched thirsts, still also of safe vulnerability, and an awareness of beauty, but most of all, a truly honorable life must be brimming with extravagant love. Indeed loving involves all of these other things too, and such is the secret to true life.
Sometimes extravagant loving is like an uphill treck through an impossibly thick rainforest. Overbearing humidity, sticky skin, slippery surfaces, treacherous beasts! Thankfully, extravagant loving can also be like whisking down a state fair slide on one of those oversized peanut sacks!
Life...sometimes painstacking, sometimes knee slapping, but always good. Always good, when you live and love from the heart, with passion, and always good when your hope comes from the Lord.
- Alan Cross - Worship Leader\Music Director
Psalm 37:4-7 "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord;trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justic of your cause like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.

I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. I have 2 older brothers. I graduated from Western Christian High School in 1987. My family moved to Costa Mesa, CA because of my dad's work when I was 19 years old.
I started my college career as a music major at Glendale Community College in Glendale, AZ. When my family moved to California , I transferred to The Master's College, in Newhall, CA to continue my music education. I was only there a semester because at the end of my Sophomore year I was diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, which caused severe pain, numbness and tingling in my hands. It would be a year of painful therapy before I was able to even touch a piano key again. I transferred to Southern California College which is now called Vanguard University, in Costa Mesa, for my Junior and Senior years. I graduated in 1992 with a B.A. in Music. Over the years of my college career I was blessed with many opportunities for music ministry and I am grateful for all I learned.
After college my first church job was at Garden Grove Christian Church. During this time I also worked as an accompanist for Santa Ana High School. Then a few years later at El Toro High School. I came to LCC in 1995 as organist– accompanist. Three years ago I was given the privilege of also directing the chancel choir at LCC. The choir is a wonderful group of people who have become my second family over the last 14 years. I also have been a private piano teacher for the last 15 years. God truly has been good to me.
Twelve years ago I was diagnosed with a chronic illness, Fibromyalgia. For those of you who have this or know someone who does, you know that every day is a struggle. But I am thankful that God continues to give me the daily strength that I need and anything that I am able to accomplish is only because of His grace. I thank God daily for my husband and family who are my support!
My hobbies include spending time with my husband and dogs, gardening, travel, time at the beach, eating my husband's delicious home cooked meals. I live in Costa Mesa with my husband (of almost 2 years!) Andre, and our 2 loveable dogs, Gracie and Beatty.
