Worship with us this weekend!
Laguna Woods (LW) Sat. 5pm, Sun. 8, 9 and 10:30am
Aliso Viejo (AV) Sun. 9am
Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Corinthians 9:24-27; Matthew 4:1-11
As we get ready to send our children back to school this fall, you’ll be involved with shopping and preparations. Here’s a fun reminder of what we need to survive everyday life.
A SURVIVAL KIT FOR EVERY DAY LIVING
Items Needed: Toothpick, Rubber Band, Band Aid, Pencil, Eraser, Chewing Gum, Mint, Candy Kiss, Tea Bag
Why???
1. TOOTHPICK - to remind you to pick out the good qualities in others.
2. RUBBER BAND - to remind you to be flexible, things might not always go the way you want, but it will work out.
3. BAND AID - to remind you to heal hurt feelings, yours or someone else's.
4. PENCIL - to remind you to list your blessings every day.
5. ERASER - To remind you that everyone makes mistakes, and it's OK.
6. CHEWING GUM - to remind you to stick with it and you can accomplish anything.
7. MINT - to remind you that you are worth a mint.
8. CANDY KISS - to remind you that everyone needs a kiss or a hug every day.
9. TEA BAG - to remind you to relax daily and reflect on all the positive things in your life.
God never told us that life would be easy, but He did tell us that no matter what happens in life He will be with us. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." – Deuteronomy 31:6
Blessings on this new school year!

Children's Ministries - Kim Butz
Can you believe the summer is over and it’s already “Back to School” time? There has been so much going on over the summer with construction at both campuses, Worship, Bible study, Time-out Tuesdays, VBS and many other ministry programs.
Now it’s time to begin thinking about the Fall Ministry season, and I am happy to announce several exciting events that I hope your children and your whole family will participate in.
1. Just a reminder – SON seekers (5pm Saturday Evening and 9am Sunday Morning) will NOT be meeting the next two weekends (August 29th and September 5th). I encourage you to Worship together as a family these weeks.
2. SON seekers begins a brand new year on Sunday, September 12th. Our year will begin with a series called “Who’s your hero?” The whole church will be traveling through the book of Hebrews together and our Pastor’s sermons, Bible study and SON seeker time will be following the same themes each week.
3. A brand new Children’s Choir will begin this fall (the end of September). Rehearsals will take place on Sunday mornings from 11:00-11:30am at the AV campus. If your child is interested in participating, please contact me (kim@lcotc.org or 949-837-4673).
4. Beginning this Fall there will NO LONGER be Children’s Ministry Wednesday evenings (child-care will be available for parents who would like to participate in the Wednesday evening Bible study). We are beginning Nite LIFE, a brand new program on Saturday evening @LW for Children and FAMILIES. The evening begins at 5pm with a 45 minute time of Worship for ALL AGES followed by a light dinner and 45 minutes of fun and learning in age appropriate groups for the ENTIRE FAMILY. The whole evening would be complete by 7pm and families can be on their way home. Nite LIFE begins with a family BBQ following Worship on September 11th
We are moving to this format for several reasons:
a. We have found midweek evenings are difficult for children and families to attend because of homework, sports or the lateness of the evening (especially for our PS children who have to get up for school the next morning)
b. Our hope and desire is for the WHOLE FAMILY to be able to grow as God’s children. So we will be offering parenting classes, Bible studies, etc which are relevant to living as a Christian in the world today
c. This format and evening allows us to program activities and events that will bring the family of God – all members of LCC – together for fun, fellowship, and learning
I pray that you and your family will join us for Nite LIFE on Saturday evenings and/or Worship and SON seekers on Sunday morning. Attached you will find the Fall Children’s Ministries calendar, please mark your calendar with all these activities and events and participate when you can.
If you have any questions about any of the activities or events please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.
Blessings on your Fall!
Kim
