Getting to know Mrs. Gordon
Blessings to you in Christ, and welcome to Mrs. Gordon’s web page! 2011-2012 is my seventh year teaching middle school mathematics at AVCS. I am blessed and privileged to have been called to such a warm and inviting place. This year I am teaching 6th grade Prentice Hall Course 1, 6th grade Pre-Algebra A, 7th and 8th grade Pre-Algebra B, and 7th and 8th grade Algebra 1.
I hold a BA in Business Administration from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio and earned my teaching credentials at California State University, Fullerton. In addition to teaching, I have worked in accounting, finance, mortgage banking, and children’s ministry. I hold a Clear California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Foundational-Level Mathematics (middle school math) and a Clear California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I am a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the California Mathematics Council.
My husband and I have been married for 23 wonderful years. We have three sons and three cats. This year our oldest son is in his senior year at UCLA majoring in biochemistry, our middle son is a freshman at CSU San Marcos majoring in business, and our youngest son is in 10th grade at Mission Viejo High School. In my free time I enjoy reading, Bible study, puzzles, children’s ministry activities at my church, and spending time traveling with my family. My favorite Bible verse is Psalm 37:4: “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
God has truly guided me in His will as I delight myself in Him, and has given me the desire of my heart: teaching math at AVCS! I look forward to another year of growing in grace, truth, and knowledge together with each of my students.
