Happy Valentine's Day! Thanks to all our wonderful parents who support all that happens here at AVCS. We so appreciate you and all you do. Our Valentine's Day celebrations today were great reminders of how much we are loved and our call to love others.
MISSION STATEMENT
It is the mission of Aliso Viejo Christian School, as a ministry of Lutheran Church of the Cross, to be a Christ-centered, Bible based environment, which provides academic excellence and nurtures students to become life-long learners who know Jesus Christ and share His Word, His grace and His love for all people.

MOMS IN PRAYER
Prayer is such a vital way to support all that happens here at school as well as at home. We have a Mom's in Prayer group that meets every Monday from 8:30-9:30 in the ARC room. Childcare is not provided. However if you are looking for a vital way to support the school, this is a great opportunity, and everyone here at AVCS greatly appreciates and values this time.
CHAPEL
Join us this Friday for chapel. Pastor John will be leading our first chapel at 8:15, followed by Mrs. Hand's fourth graders at 9:00. The next 3 weeks offerings will be going toward the Feng Li Li Foundation. Information will be coming home this week explaining the foundation and how you can help. Fifteen year old Laura Valentine will be here Friday, March 9th at chapel to share her story.
PARKING LOT REMINEDERS
Please remember to parallel park your car when parking on the street. Use the crosswalks and stay off your cell phones please! Safety first!
2012-2013 REGISTRATION
Registration is going well. In fact we are now closed in first, second, and fifth grades! If you are still on the fence please let the office know as soon as possible your plans for next year.
AFTER SCHOOL OPPORUNITIES
Kindergarten-sixth graders MAD SCIENCE has some new dates. Check out the attached flyer if you are interested in being a part of this fun after school activity!
DIPPIN DOTS COMING THIS WEEK!!!!!
In lieu of Smoothie King, our 7th graders will be selling Dippin' Dots after school on Thursdays beginning the week of February 16th. There will be 2 flavors to choose from and each will sell for $3.00. Click here for the flyer.

RECYCLING
Please remember that we will gladly take your plastic bottles and cans at drop off EVERY THURSDAY!! This is a great and easy way to support our programs. Thanks for all you weekly participants. Every little bit helps!
STUDENT COUNCIL SPONSORED ANNUAL VARIETY SHOW!!!
The variety Show will be held on Friday, February 24th from 6:30-8:30pm. Bring your beach chairs and join us for a fun family night of entertainment at our concert in the park (MPR). Tickets are on sale NOW in the office for $2.00 each. You will get a raffle ticket with your admission that night!

Every Sunday Morning: Worship at 9:30 am (Children's Sunday School and Nursery also offered), Bible Study (2 Corinthians) and Confirmation (6-9th graders) at 10:45 am.
Wednesday Family Fellowship Nights at AV continue for Children, Youth and Adults. Dinner is served at 5:30 pm ($5 person or $15 family), and the children's ministry, youth group and adult classes are held from 6:15-7:30 pm. Our current adult Bible study is called, "Max On Life"…answers and insights to your most important questions. This informal, conversational course is based on God's Word and on writings by popular Christian author, Max Lucado. This week's theme, for adult Bible study for Wed., Feb. 15 is "Home." On this Valentine's week, we will focus on our families and filling our homes with the love that comes from God alone. Remember, "Nothing…will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:39)
Coming up…Wednesday, Feb. 22, "Ash Wednesday" worship service at 7:00 pm. The whole family is invited to come to this special service where we begin our walk to the cross, in the 40 days leading up to Easter.
2012 AVCS Summer Camp
AVCS offers a Bible-based, Christ-centered atmosphere with nurturing and dedicated counselors. In addition to activities focused around the theme of the week, your camper will participate in devotions, games, computer time, bounce house, indoor fort building, big-screen movies and popcorn, scavenger hunts, team building activities, wet and wild days, Wii and E-rated electronics and arts and crafts. Some of weekly themes this summer are: Soul Survivor; Mission Possible; iCamp; Kids Konstruction; Once Upon a Time; Kitchen Kreations; America's Heroes; and VBS.
